Hardwood Flooring Maintenance Tips

• Use scatter rugs on the inside and outside of each entrance to trap grit from incoming shoes.
  
  
• Use felt pads on the bottom of furniture legs. Replace when worn.
  
  
• To help all woodwork, use a humidifier during dry winter months to keep wood movement (shrinkage) to a minimum.
  
  
• During humid summer months, use air conditioning and/or a dehumidifier to keep wood from absorbing too much moisture.
  
  
• With todays low maintenance finishes (not on wax), maintain floors simply by vacuuming and damp mopping with a well wrung (damp) mop.
  
  
• Between cleanings dust mop to keep floors looking like new.
