Johnston Flooring is a family owned business specializing in the sales, installation, and repair of hardwood flooring. The company's offices, warehouse and showroom are located in Merrimack, New Hampshire. Wally and Margie Johnston, founders and owners of Johnston Flooring began the company back in 1962 when it became the first Hardwood Flooring Subcontract Installation Company in Southern New Hampshire. The company was also the first to open a hardwood flooring warehouse and showroom in Southern New Hampshire.

Today, after fifty years in business the company enjoys high praise and an excellent reputation within the industry and has thousands of satisfied clients. Johnston Floorings dedication to the excellence of fine craftsmanship, attention to every detail and excellent customer service speaks for itself in thousands of reference sheets from satisfied customers, sales managers, representatives, distributors and manufacturers within the Hardwood Flooring industry.

Our Fine Craftsmanship Training

A truly beautiful hardwood floor is created by fine craftsmanship, craftsmanship which takes many years to cultivate and perfect. Proprietor Wally Johnston has spent fifty years perfecting his craft and turning out beautiful hardwood floors. He was the first installer in New England to receive a Craftsman Degree in Hardwood Flooring, through the National Wood Flooring Association. At inception of this Degree Program, only 27 out of 1,960 members qualified to receive a Craftsman degree. Wally received his Master Craftsman Degree in Hardwood Flooring in April, 2001. He is currently working towards a Vanguard Degree in Hardwood Flooring through the National Wood Flooring Association.

To remain a leader in the industry, Wally has attended over 800 hours of seminars during the last twenty years. These seminars are held by Hardwood Flooring Manufacturers, Tool and Accessory Manufacturers, Floor Finish Manufacturers, the National Wood Flooring Association and various distributors. Wally continues to attend between 10-12 seminars each year to remain current and in the forefront of new innovations and techniques in the field of hardwood flooring.

Competitions

Everyone loves a little competition in their industry and Johnston Flooring is no exception. The company has won first place in several Hardwood Flooring Industry Competitions including the World Series of Hardwood Flooring Competition in 1988 and the Hoboken Open in 1990, hosted by Hoboken Wood Floors. Johnston Flooring is still the #1 Hardwood Flooring Company in New England.
